Within the span of one hour, participants will co-create a collective sound composition inspired by the element of water, as memory, flow, movement, and life, through the practice of water percussion. The work draws inspiration from the physical presence of water, incorporating traditional and everyday objects. Participants will explore how the sound and movement of water can be transformed into artistic expression, experimenting together to create a living, ever-changing soundscape. The final outcome will be presented live at the end of the session as a unique, unrepeatable composition, a collective SPLASH of shared creativity, where water becomes a language, a vessel of memory, and a shared experience.
The activity is facilitated by musician and educator Andria Nicodemou and is suitable for people of all ages.
Μέσα σε μία ώρα, οι συμμετέχοντες θα συν-δημιουργήσουν μια συλλογική ηχητική σύνθεση, βασισμένη στο στοιχείο του νερού, ως μνήμη, ροή, μετακίνηση και ζωή μέσα από την πρακτική των υδάτινων κρουστών. Το έργο αντλεί έμπνευση από τη φυσική παρουσία του νερού, χρησιμοποιώντας αντικείμενα της παράδοσης και της καθημερινότητας. Το κοινό θα διερευνήσει πώς ο ήχος και η κίνηση του νερού μεταμορφώνονται σε τέχνη και θα πειραματιστεί, δημιουργώντας ένα ζωντανό “τοπίο” που μεταβάλλεται συνεχώς. Το τελικό αποτέλεσμα θα παρουσιαστεί ζωντανά στο τέλος της δράσης, ως μία μοναδική, μη επαναλήψιμη σύνθεση, ένα “SPLASH” συλλογικής ενέργειας, όπου το νερό γίνεται γλώσσα, μνήμη και κοινή εμπειρία.
Την δραστηριότητα συντονίζει η μουσικός και εκπαιδευτικός Άντρια Νικοδήμου και είναι κατάλληλη για άτομα όλων των ηλικιών.

A multifaceted musician and educator specializing in percussion, improvisation, and interactive performances. Her work falls within the realm of “open-ended play,” combining sound, movement, and theatricality, while exploring the expressive possibilities of the vibraphone through experimental and interdisciplinary approaches.
She has collaborated with leading artists on the international scene, including Joe Morris, Anthony Coleman, Ikue Mori, Tatsuya Nakatani, Ab Baars, Gerald Cleaver, and Ingrid Laubrock, and has participated in orchestras and festivals such as the Royal Improvisers Orchestra, London Improvisers Orchestra, Prague Improvisers Orchestra, Earshot Jazz Festival, the Seattle Improvised Music Festival, Borderline, Irtijal, Music Unlimited, and Space21, among others. Her works have been presented at venues such as Jordan Hall, MoMA PS1, the Berklee Performance Center, the Boston Center for the Arts, The Stone, The Vortex, the Athens Concert Hall, and the Onassis Foundation’s Stegi.
She maintains a busy international schedule, touring Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East, presenting solo works, concerts with her three active ensembles, collaborations, and interdisciplinary projects. She participates in residencies and collaborations with international ensembles, while teaching improvisation to students and professionals. She leads masterclasses and educational workshops at universities and arts organizations, and has also collaborated with Young Audiences of Massachusetts.
She is a co-founder of the award-winning Thread Ensemble and Make Music Cyprus, as well as the founder and artistic director of the Make Music Cyprus and Breach festivals.
A graduate of the Ionian University (Classical Percussion) and holder of master’s degrees in Performing Arts and Contemporary Improvisational Music (New England Conservatory), she has been honored by the United States with the title “Outstanding Artistic Personality.”

Η δουλειά της κινείται στο πεδίο του “open-ended play”, συνδυάζοντας ήχο, κίνηση και θεατρικότητα, ενώ ερευνά τις εκφραστικές δυνατότητες του βιμπραφώνου μέσα από πειραματικές και διεπιστημονικές προσεγγίσεις.

Διαθέτει έντονη διεθνή δραστηριότητα με περιοδείες σε Ευρώπη, Αμερική και Μέση Ανατολή, παρουσιάζοντας σόλο έργα, συναυλίες με τα 3 ενεργά μουσικά της σύνολα, συμπράξεις και διεπιστημονικά πρότζεκτ. Συμμετέχει σε residencies και συνεργασίες με διεθνή σύνολα, ενώ διδάσκει αυτοσχεδιασμό σε φοιτητές και επαγγελματίες. Παραδίδει masterclasses και εκπαιδευτικά εργαστήρια σε πανεπιστήμια και καλλιτεχνικούς οργανισμούς, έχοντας επίσης συνεργαστεί με το Young Audiences of Massachusetts.
Είναι συνιδρύτρια του βραβευμένου Thread Ensemble και του Make Music Cyprus, καθώς και ιδρύτρια και καλλιτεχνική επιμελήτρια των φεστιβάλ Make Music Cyprus και Breach.
Απόφοιτος Ιονίου Πανεπιστημίου (Κλασικά Κρουστά) και κάτοχος μεταπτυχιακών στις Παραστατικές Τέχνες και στη Σύγχρονη Αυτοσχεδιαστική Μουσική (New England Conservatory), έχει τιμηθεί από τις ΗΠΑ με τον τίτλο «Εξέχουσας Καλλιτεχνικής Προσωπικότητας».
