Ize Trio is a multicultural music ensemble blending the rich traditions of Middle Eastern music with the improvisational spirit of American Jazz. With original compositions and powerful musical storytelling, the trio explores themes of identity, migration, and cultural connection. Their debut project The Global Suites — featuring renowned bassist John Patitucci — bridges traditions and raises awareness for immigrant rights through expansive narrative suites. Drawing from their diverse backgrounds, the three musicians create a dynamic sound that opens dialogue between the U.S. and the Middle East, showing how music can foster understanding, inclusion, and meaningful cultural exchange and inspiring musicians to add their cultural roots to the Jazz tradition.

For their performance at Windcraft Music Fest Ize Trio will collaborate for the first time with Cypriot flutist Eleonora Roussou.

Το Ize Trio είναι ένα πολυπολιτισμικό μουσικό σύνολο που συνδυάζει τις πλούσιες παραδόσεις της μουσικής της Μέσης Ανατολής με το αυτοσχεδιαστικό πνεύμα της αμερικανικής τζαζ. Με πρωτότυπες συνθέσεις και δυνατές μουσικές αφηγήσεις, το τρίο εξερευνά θέματα ταυτότητας, μετανάστευσης και πολιτισμικής σύνδεσης. Το πρώτο τους άλμπουμ The Global Suites - στο οποίο συμμετέχει ο διάσημος μπασίστας John Patitucci - γεφυρώνει παραδόσεις και ευαισθητοποιεί για τα δικαιώματα των μεταναστών μέσα από εκτεταμένες αφηγηματικές σουίτες. Αντλώντας από το διαφορετικό τους υπόβαθρο, οι τρεις μουσικοί δημιουργούν έναν δυναμικό ήχο που ανοίγει τον διάλογο μεταξύ των ΗΠΑ και της Μέσης Ανατολής, δείχνοντας πώς η μουσική μπορεί να προωθήσει την κατανόηση, την ένταξη και την ουσιαστική πολιτιστική ανταλλαγή και εμπνέοντας τους μουσικούς να προσθέσουν τις πολιτιστικές τους ρίζες στην παράδοση της τζαζ.

Για την εμφάνισή τους στο Windcraft Music Fest οι Ize Trio θα συνεργαστούν για πρώτη φορά με την Κύπρια φλαουτίστα Ελεονώρα Ρούσου.

  • Chase Morrin is a prolific pianist and composer, having released four original albums, all multi-cultural collaborations, and written for ensembles like the Louisville Orchestra and MAP ensemble at Yellow Barn. He is currently a professor at the Berklee Global Jazz Institute and New England Conservatory Preparatory School and has garnered eleven Downbeat awards and four ASCAP Jazz composer awards. In addition to finding innovative approaches to musical collaboration, Chase is dedicated to advocating for social change through music and creating more equitable spaces in music communities.

    Ο Chase Morrin είναι παραγωγικός πιανίστας και συνθέτης. Έχει κυκλοφορήσει τέσσερα πρωτότυπα άλμπουμ, όλα διαπολιτισμικές συνεργασίες, και έχει γράψει για σύνολα όπως η Louisville Orchestra και το MAP ensemble at Yellow Barn. Σήμερα είναι καθηγητής στο Berklee Global Jazz Institute και στο New England Conservatory Preparatory School και έχει συγκεντρώσει έντεκα βραβεία Downbeat και τέσσερα βραβεία συνθέτη τζαζ της ASCAP.   • Naseem Alatrash is a Palestinian cellist and composer whose tone was described as 'particularly lustrous' by the Chicago Tribune. Naseem's performances include a mix of improvisation and traditional melodies, with traditional Arabic, jazz and contemporary classical music influence. Naseem is currently an assistant professor at Berklee College music, Tufts University and Longy school of music. Chase and Naseem met at the Berklee Global Jazz Institute and have spent considerable time finding connections between the blues, makams, and the spirituality of tetrachords. Naseem has been awarded the composition 2021 fellowship from Mass Cultural Council, String Player of the Year twice from The National Music Competition of Palestine and performs with the Global Messengers with pianist Danilo Pérez, Turtle Island Quartet and with Amir ElSaffar's Rivers of Sound ensemble.

    Ο Naseem Alatrash είναι Παλαιστίνιος τσελίστας και συνθέτης, του οποίου ο ήχος περιγράφηκε ως «ιδιαίτερα λαμπερός» από την Chicago Tribune. Οι εμφανίσεις του Naseem περιλαμβάνουν ένα μείγμα αυτοσχεδιασμού και παραδοσιακών μελωδιών, με επιρροές από την παραδοσιακή αραβική, τζαζ και σύγχρονη κλασική μουσική. Ο Naseem είναι επί του παρόντος βοηθός καθηγητή στο Berklee College music, στο Πανεπιστήμιο Tufts και στη σχολή μουσικής Longy.   • Born and raised in Nicosia Cyprus, George Lernis is a drummer, hand percussionist, composer and educator who currently resides in the U.S. He has recorded and collaborated with prominent figures such as: John Patitucci, Antonio Sanchez, Dave Liebman, Anat Cohen, Blue Heron and A Far Cry String Orchestra. In addition, George performs regularly in venues such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, and gives workshops and lectures at higher education institutions such as the Berklee College of Music and Emerson College. George is the president and managing director of the Anatoliama INC non-profit whose mission is to preserve the musical traditions of Greece around the U.S. and the world in the form of concerts and educational workshops. George’s new album ''Between Two Worlds'' featuring world renowned bass player John Patitucci was released on June 10th, 2022.

    Γεννημένος και μεγαλωμένος στη Λευκωσία, ο Γιώργος Λέρνης είναι ντράμερ, κρουστός, συνθέτης και παιδαγωγός που σήμερα ζει στις ΗΠΑ. Έχει ηχογραφήσει και συνεργαστεί με εξέχουσες προσωπικότητες όπως: John Patitucci, Antonio Sanchez, Dave Liebman, Anat Cohen, Blue Heron και A Far Cry String Orchestra. Επιπλέον, ο Γιώργος εμφανίζεται τακτικά σε χώρους όπως το Carnegie Hall και το Lincoln Center και δίνει σεμινάρια και διαλέξεις σε ιδρύματα τριτοβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης όπως το Berklee College of Music και το Emerson College. Είναι πρόεδρος και διευθύνων σύμβουλος της μη κερδοσκοπικής εταιρείας Anatoliama INC, αποστολή της οποίας είναι η διατήρηση των μουσικών παραδόσεων της Ελλάδας στις ΗΠΑ και στον κόσμο με τη μορφή συναυλιών και εκπαιδευτικών εργαστηρίων. Το νέο άλμπουμ του Γιώργου ''Between Two Worlds'' με τη συμμετοχή του παγκοσμίου φήμης μπασίστα John Patitucci κυκλοφόρησε στις 10 Ιουνίου 2022.

  • Eleonora studied classical piano (BMus Hons, 1996-1999) with Yolande Wrigley at the University of Sheffield, where she was awarded the Sir Thomas Beecham Scholarship (1997), and Psychology of Music (MA Psychology of Music, 2000-2002) with Eric Clarke and Jane Davidson at the same institution. Furthermore, she studied Jazz Flute Performance with Simon Rigter and Bart Platteau at Codarts Conservatorium Rotterdam (BA Jazz Performance 2008-2012), where she was awarded the Huygens Scholarship program (2011-2012).

    Eleonora Roussou participates in a vast array of concerts of jazz, classical, folk and fusion music concerts all over the world - North Sea Jazz festival (NED), Europalia Music festival (BEL), Rotterdam Architecture festival (NED), Epidavros Theater festival (GRE), Kypria Festival (CY), Axiothea Festival (CY), Zyprische Miniaturen (GER) , Pafos 2017 (CY) - as well as in many album, soundtrack and advertisement recordings. She collaborates with many theatre groups in Cyprus as a music coach, arranger, and onstage performer (THOC, Theatro Lexis, Paravan Productions, Persona Theatre group et al.). Eleonora is currently based in Cyprus as a freelance performer, composer and teacher. She has just released her first album, “Hará”.

Συνεργάζεται με πολλές θεατρικές ομάδες στην Κύπρο ως music coach, ενορχηστρωτής και επί σκηνής (THOC, Theatro Lexis, Paravan Productions, Persona Theatre group κ.α.). Η Ελεονώρα δραστηριοποιείται σήμερα στην Κύπρο ως ανεξάρτητη ερμηνεύτρια, συνθέτρια και δασκάλα. Μόλις κυκλοφόρησε το πρώτο της άλμπουμ με τίτλο «Hará».
