IMG_9147.jpg

The Windcraft Music Fest returns to Katydata for its 9th edition, which will take place on 22 and 23 July 2023, and promises to offer magical moments of musical coexistence and uplifting beats to keep you moving!

This year’s event will host bands and musicians from Cyprus and abroad which cover a wide range of musical styles, like jazz, ethnic and folk music, mixed up with contemporary or electronic sounds. Workshops, walks, performances and other parallel activities will invite participants of all ages to take part in the process of music creation and explore the village and its surroundings through a community building process.

The festival will be preceded by an artistic residency with the band People of the Wind

within the framework of the European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists - EFFEA.

WMF's proposal for the European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists - EFFEA was one of the projects selected during the first open call!

Within this framework we are excited to announce an artistic residency with the amazing trio People of the Wind (NZ, FR, GR) at Windcraft Music Fest 9, in collaboration with two established European festivals: Balkan Trafik Festival (BE) and Window onto the World - Festiwal Kultur "Okno na świat" (PL)!

About EFFEA

Festivals are explorers of unknown or not-yet known talents, originality, innovation, and risk-taking artists to present to their audiences. These festivals serve and define themselves as the guardians and the intermediate springboard for artists in all arts disciplines. In this way, the European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists (EFFEA), an initiative of the European Festivals Association (EFA), is a system built for festivals to support and offer emerging artists a platform to develop their careers on a European level and an invitation for co-operation between festivals. The EFFEA is the next step in a movement of festivals in Europe that recognise themselves and commit to working together at a European level. It builds on the preparatory action called EFFE: Europe for Festivals Festivals for Europe.

Main Objectives

  • To offer emerging artists more opportunities to present their work and develop their career on an international level

  • To offer cooperation opportunities for festivals to work cross border on the topic of emerging artists

  • To offer audiences new and surprising encounters with emerging artists in their towns and cities through the platforms of their festivals

EXTENSION OF EFFE LABEL TO 2023

The EFFE label, which the Windcraft Music Fest has received from the European Festivals Association (EFA) in 2019, has been extended to 2022-2023!

The EFFE (Europe for Festivals - Festivals for Europe) Label is Europe’s quality stamp for remarkable arts festivals showing their engagement in the field of the arts, community involvement and international openness.

Some festivals on the FestivalFinder.eu have the EFFE Label. This Label was handed out to them after being evaluated by international experts in the festival world.
