The trio explores a musical expression where Western, Turkish, Indian and Jazz music enter into a dialogue, and where the beauty of ethnic melodies is celebrated in the spontaneous and sensual vocabulary.

Ofer Mizrahi Trio is an ensemble comprised of cellist, Leat Sol Sabbah (substituting Mayu Shviro), the double bass player, David Michaeli and musician Ofer Mizrahi, playing original music written and composed by Mizrahi.

Their music navigates a space in which the transcendent resonance of music becomes a cross-cultural narrative, where traditional borders begin to blur, and then cease to exist. Mizrahi’s Whale Guitar, trumpet and vocals coalesce with Sabbah’s lyrical cello and the earthly pulses of Michaeli’s double bass, creating a rich musical language that fuses east and west into a singular, mesmerizing aural experience.

Among other venues, Ofer Mizrahi Trio has performed at the Jerusalem Jazz Festival 2021, The Israel Music Showcase Festival 2021 and the Jazzahead Showcase Festival 2022 in Bremen, Germany.

Fanfara_Station__02.jpg

Fanfara Station is  a celebration with a brass band, an entire North African rhythm section and contemporary electro Dance beats. It’s a dance party created live by only three musicians thanks to the use of loop stations for live over-dubbing.

Fanfara Station is a trio that brings the power of a brass band and electronics to North African vocals and percussions. Inspired by Marzouk’s memories of his father’s brass band, Fanfara Station celebrates the epic feats of the Mediterranean’s migrants, the musical cultures of the African diaspora and the flows that have long connected the Middle East, the Magreb, Southern Europe and the Americas.

The stage is filled with instruments: percussion: scascika, tar, bendir, darbuka and  tabla next to  the  trumpet, trombone, clarinet and three Tunisian woodwinds: the nay, mizued and zocra. Then there are dozens of wires connecting loop stations, controllers and an array of effects pedals. A myriad of acoustic and electric sounds dialogue and sustain the voice of singer and song writer Marzouk Mejri. The brass of Fanfara Station bring folk blues and Balkan accents into a electro acoustic North African universe represented by layers of percussion instruments, woodwinds  and singing.  Modern folk sensibilities are threaded into a contemporary electronic dance fabric.

ALARGA ENSEMBLE (CY)

VILLAGE SQUARE

Alarga Ensemble Collage.png

The ALARGA Ensemble studies and experiments with traditional songs of the past, in which the dominant musical instruments are the kaval and the clarinet.

Alarga, that is, far away. The tunes performed by the ensemble come to us from far away both geographically and historically. But they can still speak to us today, touch us, excite us.

The Peloponnese will meet Asia Minor, Thrace will come across some of the Aegean islands and the journey will end in Epirus and Bulgaria. The fast rhythms of Bulgaria will mingle with the tsamika, the beratia, the atmospheric "skaroi" and the Thracian throat-singing.

All this, through fresh arrangements of four young, experienced and passionate musicians with an appetite for creation.

Hara 2.jpg

“Hara” (“Joy") is here to remind us of the carefree and simple way in which music can take us from one emotion to another.

It is a series of compositions inspired by the experiences created by human relationships, by the morphology and twists and turns of emotions. They are influenced by a wide palette of musical genres - Latin, jazz, pop, classical, Eastern Mediterranean, flamenco, soul - with a dominant element of improvisation.

The band consists mostly of jazz musicians with diverse musical influences and training, yet with a common denominator being their studies in the Netherlands and their love of mixing and expanding musics of the world. They have performed at the Cyprus Rialto Jazz and World Music Showcase, the Aglanjazz Festival and the Cyprus Rialto World Music festival. They are currently in the process of recording and planning the release of their first album for the summer of 2022.

Bobby Rausch by Anna Aicher 01.jpg

Mixing digital and analog, composition and improvisation, BOBBY RAUSCH is the sound of young Berlin.

If BOBBY RAUSCH have perfected something then that is breaking with conventions. This begins with their unusual line-up: Bass clarinet meets baritone saxophone meets drums - the three band members create sound variations that are as unpredictable as the band formation itself. From instrumental hip-hop and jazz to electro beats and grunge riffs - there are no restrictions in the exploration of sounds. BOBBY RAUSCH have succeeded in working their way around genre boundaries in an exciting and progressive way.

BOBBY RAUSCH plays the soundtrack for those tired of compromise. Handmade in Berlin!
